I’ve known Martha for going on 10 years, from back when we worked together in London before I finally fled the place for more civilised parts, so it was lovely to be asked if I’d photograph her wedding. So that was an obvious yes from me!

Martha and Bruce had an intimate family do at Bromley Civic Centre (possibly most famous for David and Angie Bowie’s wedding photos – everyone had Bowie badges on the day!), followed by a buffet reception in Chiselhurst. So much food…

I must admit I was amazed by the venue – the Civic Centre looks like a concrete car park from the street, so I didn’t expect to find a Georgian palace and garden round the back! The garden made a wonderful setting for some family group photos, and the covered terrace at the back of the building gave us some great spots for some portraits of the newlyweds. Fortunately the weather had completely ignored the forecast as well, and
stayed sunny till it was time to head for the pub (and an impromptu photography tutorial after dinner!)

Martha and Bruce have got some interesting performance projects in the pipeline, which I’m hoping to work on with them if I can, so more on that some time in the future… Watch this space.
